Review the message notes
1. The Apostle Paul said this in Philippians 3:7
But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— 10 that I may know him…
The Apostle wrote more books in the New Testament than any other. He saw Jesus and was miraculously converted. He spread the good news and interacted with those who closely followed Jesus. Yet, he made it his goal to know Jesus. You would think he knew Jesus. But he thought it still was not enough. You can know about a person, but to know him as Paul is sharing involves really grasping and embracing who Jesus was and what He taught. Because Jesus is the God in flesh, we will never be finished on this journey of knowing God.
2. Do you want to know God in 2016? On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, and 10 being it consumes you) how much do you want to know Jesus?
3. What are ways you have encountered God in the past?
4. How can you get to know Him this year?
