The Call to Teach about God and His Ways in Everyday Life

Deuteronomy 6:1-9

Pray for grace through the application of God’s word

Review the message notes

  1. Read the verses above

  2. What good do you see in God’s commands?

  3. The Puritan, Jeremiah Boroughs, said,

Certainly, our contentment does not consist in getting the thing we desire, but in God’s fashioning our spirits to our conditions.  Some men have not got a foot of ground of their own, yet they live better than other men who are heirs to a great deal of land… You think, if I had such a thing, then I should be content.  I say, there is more good in contentment than there is in the thing that you would fain have to cure your discontent, and that I shall show in several ways….

What do you think of that?

  1. How do loving God and keeping his commandments go together? (John 14:21, 1 John 5:2-3)

  2. Read Dt. 6:6-7. What are you diligent about?

  3. How can we share what we don’t know or follow perfectly? What does that look like? Why bother?

  4. Pray for one another
